LEARN MORE ABOUT ME
I qualified as a counselling psychologist in 1988 at NWU Potchefstroom and has enjoyed a diverse career in psychotherapy, human resources as well as business management.
I took early retirement from the corporate world in 2018 to devote my time to psychotherapy and coaching. In addition to my psychology private practice I serve on the executive coaching panels of major banks and also assist with entrepreneurial development.
My qualifications include B.Com hons (cum laude), M.Com (I/O Psychology). I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, am a full member of the International Society for Coaching Psychology and an advanced BWRT practitioner.
I follow an integrative approach in psychotherapy, meaning that I utilise aspects of multiple psychotherapies and neuroscience based methods to assist clients to overcome personal setbacks and to lead healthy and meaningful lives.
I started out doing mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but have found a lot of benefit for clients in neuroscience based, experiential therapies including BWRT, Coherance Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.
Most of all my approach aims to mobilise client resources to rapidly alter brain processes that produce psychological distress, illness and self defeating behaviours. As such my intervention is results focused and of shorter duration than traditional psychotherapy.
I primarily work with adult individuals and provide psychologist services in English and Afrikaans.
Ek werk hoofsaaklik met volwasse individue en lewer sielkundige dienste in Engels en Afrikaans.
